“Yogena
cittasya padena vaachaam malam sarirasya cha vaidyakena yopakarottam pravaram
muninam patanjalim pranajaliranato'smi
abahu purusakaram sankha chakrasi gadharinam
sahasra seersham svetham pranamami patanjalim.”

I salute and bow before the great master and the noblest of sages
Sri Patanjali Ji,
who gave me the yoga for serenity and
sanctity of mind, grammar for clarity and purity of speech and medicine for
perfection of health. I saluate him again and again so that may I attain
freedom of all levels. Let us all prostrate before Patanjali, an incarnation of
Adisesha, whose upper body has a human form, whose arms hold a conch and a
disc, and who is crowned by a thousand-headed cobra.
